A World of Acronyms

June 2010 Acronyms are redefining the world we live in. Everywhere you turn there are acronyms, especially on the Internet. The HTML standard even has an acronym tag, you use it like this: <acronym title="Greater Toronto Area"> GTA </acronym> , which has the following result: GTA (hold your mouse pointer over the GTA acronym).

The need for acronyms is obvious, however, one has to wonder if we are on an inevitable path to acronym anarchy. Todays instant text messaging available on mobile phones and PDA's has created a whole new version of the english language.

Bellow you will find a list of IT acronyms. Go ahead and start memorizing them all for use in your day to day life. Before you know it you will be dropping acronyms like a pro.
